WCW Monday Nitro Report
October 26th 1998

By Joe De Leon

Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Larry Zbyszko, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan
Live from Phoenix, Arizona

• Tony Schiavone announced that WCW would show the entire Goldberg vs. Diamond Dallas Page Heavyweight Title match from Halloween Havoc, since some cable companies cut off the match during the live pay-per-view time. Schiavone said it wasn't a ratings ploy, since it was beyond WCW's control, and that the match would be shown at the beginning of the second hour (9:00pm EST).

• Stevie Ray defeated Kenny Kaos with the Slap Jack.
-As Kenny Kaos took the advantage, Buff Bagwell ran down, distracted the referee, and threw an illegal object to Stevie Ray. Ray nailed Kaos with the object, and hit the Slap Jack finishing maneuver to take the win. Bagwell and Ray continued to attack Kaos following the match, until Rick Steiner made the save. Steiner asked Kaos if he would be his Tag Team Title partner so they could take on NWO-Hollywood later in the show. Kaos took Steiner's offer, and the two Tag Team Champions would take on NWO-Hollywood members later in the show.

• Kanyon (w/Raven) defeated Prince Iaukea with the Flatliner.
-Before the match, Kanyon got some negative feedback from the crowd, after asking who was better than him. Prince Iaukea put up a tough fight for Kanyon, but when nailed with the Flatliner, he lost. Kanyon got on top of the turnbuckle, and shouted out, "I'm the King of the World!" (ala Titanic).

• Four Horsemen Interview (Conducted by Gene Okerlund).
-Steve McMichael was not with The Four Horsemen. Ric Flair said McMichael was missing in action, but would be in the arena before the night was over. Flair mentioned how Eric Bischoff's plans to keep The Four Horsemen out of WCW property were not working. Bischoff appeared by the entrance-way, with a new haircut. Bischoff said he had something very important to tell everyone. He said he under-estimated Flair, and all the fans wanted to see Flair wrestle again. Bischoff, on the fans' request, said he would let Flair wrestle later in the show. Flair was very happy, and said although he didn't trust Bischoff, he would be dressed to kill.

• Alex Wright defeated Barry Horowitz with the Reversed Neckbreaker.
-After Alex Wright knocked Barry Horowitz off the top-rope with a drop-kick, he executed his Reversed Neckbreaker maneuver, to take the win.

• Wrath defeated Sick Boy with the Meltdown.
-Another easy win for Wrath.

• The entire Goldberg vs. Diamond Dallas Page Heavyweight Title match from Halloween Havoc was shown.

• Backstage, Gene Okerlund walked into Kevin Nash's locker room. Nash, who was surprisingly in the locker room with Scott Hall, said a win against Hall didn't matter at Halloween Havoc, but to put some sense into him is what did. Hall, sober, said he has changed, until The Giant invaded the locker room. Hall and The Giant began to attack Nash. Nash was tricked yet again by Hall's phony reconciliation.

• NWO-Hollywood Interview.
-Hollywood Hogan bragged about his victory over The Warrior at Halloween Havoc. He offically announced Horace (Hogan) as part of NWO-Hollywood. The entire NWO Black and White stable was in the ring to celebrate Horace's initiation.

• Saturn defeated Eddie Guerrero by Disqualification.
-Both wrestlers worked very well, and put in a lot of effort. Saturn had Eddie Guerrero in the Death Valley Driver position, but was unable to fully execute it, after LWO members interfered. Saturn was attacked, which got him the win by Disqualification. A new member joined the LWO.

• Judy Bagwell Interview.
-Judy Bagwell said she was very proud of her son, but after Buff turned on Rick Steiner at Halloween Havoc, it was enough for her. She said she was on a mission to straighten out Buff Bagwell.

• Rick Steiner and Kenny Kaos defeated The Giant and Stevie Ray with Steiner's Bulldog, to retain the WCW Tag Team Titles.
-As The Giant and Kenny Kaos battled on the outside of the ring, Rick Steiner finished off Stevie Ray with the Steiner Bulldog. Steiner and Kaos -- the newest tag team in WCW -- retained the Tag Team Titles.

• Eric Bischoff interrupted the commentating booth, and had WCW production show clippings of the Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair Bash at the Beach '94 match. Apparently, this is how Bischoff "promised" us we would see Flair wrestle. Hogan won that match at Bash at the Beach, so it was perfectly obvious it was all a set-up by Bischoff.

• Kidman defeated Juventud Guerrera with the Shooting Star Press, to retain the WCW Cruiserweight Title.
-Kidman and Juventud Guerrera had another excellent match. Kidman executed the second Shooting Star Press on Juvi to take the victory.

• Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell Interview.
-Scott Steiner said no matter what you see, he and Buff Bagwell would be together forever. Bagwell taunted his mother, Judy, and asked his dad to straighten her up. Steiner challenged his brother, Rick Steiner, to a rematch. J.J. Dillon made his way in, and he and Scott Steiner had an argument over referees. Buff and Scott attacked Dillon. Security came in, but were pushed out of the way.

• Warrior Interview.
-The Warrior said Hollywood Hogan would be haunted forever, after what took place at Halloween Havoc. The Warrior taunted Hogan, saying Hogan didn't have the guts to fight a match like a man. Several NWO-Hollywood members made their ways in, including Hogan and Eric Bischoff. All were taken out by The Warrior.

• Diamond Dallas Page defeated Bret Hart with the Diamond Cutter, to become the new WCW United States Champion.
-The referee was knocked out at one point. After Diamond Dallas Page hit the Diamond Cutter, he became the new United States Champion. Bret Hart attacked DDP after the match, with several chairshots. Goldberg ran into the ring to make the save, and at that piont, the show went off the air.
